INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS SPECIFIC TO THIS VISA CLASS
Class T9 Group Tourist
(i) A person who is traveling as a member of a group of four to ten tourists individually or organized by a tour operator.
A tour operator is a tour or travel agent registered to operate in Rwanda.
(i) A group visa will be issued to each member of the group.
(iii) Persons eligible for this visa will be required to enter Rwanda with other members of the group and exit Rwanda with members of the group. If applicants anticipate to enter Rwanda separately as individual visitors should apply for another class of tourist visa.
Where Applications can be Made:
*At Rwandan diplomatic missions for first application.
*At the Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration offices on extension.
Tour operators should lodge an application covering all members of the group at the same time using the online facility or at Embassies. Tour operators lodging applications will be held liable for the information they provide on behalf of applicants
Any genuine acceptable travel document valid not less than 6 months.
100 USD or equivalent accepted foreign currency in Rwandan foreign diplomatic mission
60.000 frw for application made in Rwanda or for extension of visa

Work is not permitted.
Change of Status:
Change of status to a temporary resident is not permitted. No person can change status of T9 when in Rwanda except for extension only.
Visitor's visa may be extended up to a maximum length of period of 180 days. Applicants shall apply to the Director General of Immigration and Emigration for an extension. Applications must be made whilst the current visa remains valid.
Tour operators can apply for an extension for the whole group at the one time.
*A clear colored passport size photo with white background, recently taken without glasses, caps and scurf of each applicant; (the photo should be attached to the application form by use of glue stick. Stapling and clipping the photo to the application form is not advisable).

To avoid penalties, the applicant should apply/renew visa in time before expiration of current visa. Penalty fee is 20,000frw in a period of 06 to 15 days of the delay. Article 34 of the Ministerial Order establishing procedures and regulations categorizes other penalties from 16 days to 9 months and above.
