Class T5 Tourist – Job Search
A skilled worker, whose occupation is on the Occupations in Demand List (ODL), seeking employment.

This visa does not allow applicants to work in Rwanda. Before commencing work applicants must obtain a temporary resident permit.
All persons must apply in their own right.
*Application for class T5 Job Search is done while in Rwanda at the Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration offices.
*An application for a class T5 Job Search visa, allowing applicants to search for work, must be lodged at the Directorate General of Immigration and Emmigration offices. An applicant will be required to provide evidence of his/her qualifications or experience in an occupation listed on the ODL.
Any genuine acceptable travel document valid not less than 6 months.
Work is prohibited
Applicants may apply to the Directorate General for another class of visa whilst they are in Rwanda and whilst their current visa remains valid.
Visitor's visa may be extended up to a maximum period of 6 months. Applicants may apply at the Director General of Immigration and Emigration offices for an extension. Applications must be made whilst the current visa remains valid.
In the vast majority of cases the long term work permit sought will be a Class H Temporary Resident Permit- Specific employment by specific employer Sub-Class H1. Applicants who are considering seeking a work permit are strongly encouraged to visit the Director General of Immigration and Emigration website or offices prior to seeking to change status to a temporary resident permit.
A key piece of evidence that would support a change of status application to a temporary resident visa would be the lodgement by the applicant of a valid job offer from an employer in Rwanda for an occupation which is on the ODL.
*One clear colored passport size photo with white background recently taken without glasses, caps and scurf; (the photo should be attached to the application form by use of glue stick. Stapling and clipping the photo to the application form is not advisable).

To avoid penalties, the applicant should apply/renew visa in time before expiration of current visa. Penalty fee is 20,000frw in a period of 06 to 15 days of the delay. Article 34 of the Ministerial Order establishing procedures and regulations categorizes other penalties from 16 days to 9 months and above.
