Rwandan Visas:

Foreign Nationals wishing to obtain Rwandan Visas, submit their applications to Rwandan Embassies or Diplomatic Missions of their Country of residence for processing.

In the case of those coming from countries where we don’t have an Embassy or Diplomatic Mission, they should request for an entry facility on line which will be used to obtain a visa on any official point of entry in Rwanda. Our website is www.migration.gov.rw
 
In view of the bilateral agreements, the Nationals of the following Countries may visit Rwanda without visa for a period up to 90 days: USA, Germany, Canada, Tanzania, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Uganda, Mauritius, South Africa, Kenya, Great Britain, Sweden, Singapore, Hong Kong and Burundi.

The visitor’s visa should not used for employment.

 Categories of Visas 

The Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration issues the following visas :

• Entry visa : available online only, issued for a single entry on any official point of entry in Rwanda, valid for 15 days and renewable by the Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration up to 90 days maximum (Apply online now!)
• Visitors /Tourism visa : Validity is 3 months and renewable once ( Click here requirements!)
• Students Visa: Valid for 1 year and renewable ( Click here requirements!)
• Working Visa : Validity is one year and renewable (Click here requirements!)
• Diplomatic Visa : Validity is two years and renewable. It is multiple entries ( Click here requirements!)
• Missionary/ Religious Visa :Validity is one year and renewable. It is multiple entries ( Click here requirements!)
• Business visa : Validity is one year and renewable ( Click here requirements!)
• International Organisations Staff Visa : Validity is two years and renewable. It is multiple entries ( Click here requirements!)
• Technical Cooperation Staff Visa : Validity is two years and renewable ( Click here requirements!)
• Dependant Visa : Validity is one year and renewable ( Click here requirements!)

Note:

• Any other document can be requested for more verification and information when necessary by the Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration.
• All documents required by applicant must be translated in English or French by recognized firm or Embassy.
• In case of expiry of travel document or it’s loss, a non national with no Diplomatic Mission/Embassy in Rwanda may apply for a temporary travel document " Titre de Voyage". This travel document is only for single journey to allow him/her to travel to his/her home/Embassy to get another travel document. The cost of temporary travel document is 50,000FRW.
• To obtain a green card, every non national after getting a visa for the first time, she/he must apply for a green card and after the renewal of the visa, the green card must also be renewed. The green card is not for Diplomats, UN officials, Technical assistants and the visitors.

CONDITIONS TO OBTAIN FOREIGNER IDENTITY CARD :

The applicant should have:

• A complete filled application form available at the visa front office;
• A photocopy of visa;
• A receipt of payment of 5000 rwf;
• Two clear colored passport size photo

NB: Police clearance from country of residence within the last six months is required
when applying for resident visa
