1. DIPLOMATIC VISA

A. REQUIREMENT FOR THE FIRST APPLICATION FOR DIPLOMATIC VISA

• A valid passport or other travel document (valid for at least six months);

• One clear colored passport size photo with white background recently taken without glasses, caps and scurf; (the photo should be attached to the application form by use of glue stick. Stapling and Clipping the photo to the application form is not advisable).

• A complete filled application form downloaded from: www.migration.gov.rw;

• A recommendation letter from the ministry of foreign affairs and cooperation;

• A recommendation letter from the embassy;

• A photocopy of the diplomatic card or "a qui de droit" from the ministry of foreign affairs and cooperation;

The diplomatic visa is valid for two years renewable and it is a multiple entry visa;

The application is made at the directorate general of immigration and emigration;

Once all required documents are submitted, the visa is issued after three hours;

Documents submission : 07h00 - 12h00

B. REQUIREMENT TO RENEWING DIPLOMATIC VISA

• A valid passport or other travel document (valid for at least six months);

• One clear colored passport size photo with white background recently taken without glasses, caps and scurf; (the photo should be attached to the application form by use of glue stick. Stapling and clipping the photo to the application form is not advisable).

• A complete filled application form downloaded from: www.migration.gov.rw;

• A recommendation letter from the ministry of foreign affairs and cooperation;

• A recommendation letter from the embassy (note verbale);

• A photocopy of the diplomatic card or "a qui de droit" from the ministry of foreign affairs and cooperation;

The diplomatic visa is valid for two years renewable and it is a multiple entries visa;

The application is made at the directorate general of immigration and emigration;

Once all required documents are submitted, the visa is issued after three hours;
